60 Minutes of invigorating Vinyasa style yoga for all levels. Linking one breath to one movement, building on safe alignment, we will cultivate  balance, flexibility, patience and strength. Postures will include salutations, balancing, twists, hip and shoulder openers and as well as some core work. A great re set class to get you started for the day or the week. Modifications will be offered and fun will be had all to an inspired playlist.  Baron Baptiste, the founder of this form of yoga, describes this practice as “the perfect blend of sweat and serenity.

12 pm GENTLE YOGA – PRENATAL FRIENDLY

All-levels gentle yoga class, prenatal & postnatal friendly. We will focus on luxurious stretches, gentle warm ups, stabilizing the low back and hips, chest openers and strength building for the legs. Deep relaxation to follow!

The format for our Sunday noon class will be prenatal friendly for the for-seeable future, however opening it up to the general public as a gentle yoga class.

3:30 pm Barefoot Boxing (begins Feb 4th) 

Put on a pair of boxing gloves and get ready for some seriously enjoyable cardio! In each class we will utilize classic boxing punches and combos to knockout calories and stress. Participants will take turns holding mitts to build in some active recovery between our high intensity punching intervals. Core strengthening exercises will also be a part of each class to enhance our punching power. No boxing experience or equipment required, we will provide all you need to become a barefoot pugilist.

4 pm RUNNER’S DELIGHT – (No Class Jan 14th or 28th … moves to 4:30pm Feb 4th)

This 75 minute class is the perfect complement to a Sunday long run and is beneficial for athletes and
non-athletes alike that seek to give their legs some serious TLC. We will begin class by strengthening the
muscles of our legs and core with special emphasis on those of our posterior chain. Next we will spend
time enjoying long holds in postures that stretch our legs, open our hips, and release our spine. Before
final relaxation, self massage and muscle release techniques are applied to our feet. A restorative
Savasana can be done in a number of ways including legs up the wall or with legs supported by bolsters.

MONDAY

10 am MOTIVATIONAL MONDAYS 

Start your week with a dash of motivation and perspective on the mat at Motivational Mondays! Give yourself the time to ease into the upcoming week with a yoga practice that inspires you to face the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming week with an awakening yoga practice (accompanied by encouraging music) leading up to a peaceful meditation before a long Savasana.

12pm GENTLE / RESTORATIVE

Begin your week with a gentle, soothing hour of meditation, pranayama, and restorative movement. Class will begin with a brief, seated meditation, and progress through a few restorative postures while the body is still cool, gradually building up to more movement by the end of class. Intended to help diffuse leftover weekend energies and build intentional focus to take you through your week.

6:00 pm VINYASA

7:15 pm – KUNDALINI YOGA & MEDITATION

This offering includes mindful movement, postures, breath work, chanting and meditation. Each class will have a different theme to increase vitality. Exercises may be adapted to all levels. Beginners welcome!

TUESDAY

7:00 am Himalayan Hatha 

Start the day off on a positive note with a blend of Hatha & gentle vinyasa easing into joints,  stimulating glands & ending with a brief meditation.  “Practicing in the style that we did at 5am at the ashram in India … it’s slowly invigorating and gets you ready to conquer the world (or a to-do list).” – Chelsea

6:00 pm YOGA for People of Color 

Together students work with the natural breath through yoga and meditation.  On the mat, we shed our minority status and find compassion in self-expression and exploration beyond perceived limitations.  We create room for healing through togetherness, belonging and community – to simply be with the body and the breath; Finding what lives within us to flourish beyond our practice.

This is a safe space for the PoC community and we thank everyone for supporting our shared empowerment through a healing space.  Hate is unwelcome and will not thrive here in our community.

In this class we use an aerial hammock to practice Unnata® Aerial Yoga. Unnata® is sanskrit for ‘Elevated’, because we use the aerial hammock to access a deeper awareness of each posture, find support to strengthen our poses, and of course invert in the silks. The fabric hammock is a prop intended to assist with muscle and fascia release, strengthening, and body alignment. There is a natural playfulness to aerial yoga, and fun is encouraged.

Unless you have practiced Aerial Yoga elsewhere, you are required to attend a pre-requisite Introduction to Aerial Yoga Workshop before attending a drop-in class.

*If you have a spinal condition, injury, or medical issues that prevent you from inverting (glaucoma, heart condition, etc) or backbending, or are pregnant, please obtain your doctor’s permission.

Viniyoga losely means  “proper application and adaptation” in accordance with the individual. Each day we are different,  every body in every yoga class is different.  How can we work with our bodies and optimize our breaths to find the most effective form and function in every posture?  In our drop in classes,  this means the asana practice (postures/movement) will be a low intensity,  flowing practice that builds stability in the low back/sacral area,  links breath and movement,  offers modifications with props and/or alignment to suit your body – not to try and fit your body into something that doesn’t work.  This class is an opportunity to build strength gently,  deepen awareness to the breath and start exactly where you are.

6pm – BARRE begins Jan 3rd!  

Barre touches on Endurance, Strength, Flexibility, and Restoration. This total body workout is intense but rewarding, using props to skillfully blend cardio, Pilates, balance work, and strength training into an invigorating hour of fast-paced movement and music. Modifications are offered for all levels of student, and the emphasis is on form over speed.

THURSDAY

12pm – SLOW VINYASA FLOW 

Luxurious, awakening mid-day slow flow. This class is great for those new to yoga as well as anyone looking for a gently-paced Vinyasa flow. Come ready to enjoy meditation, breath work, and a series of sun-salutation, twists, and lengthening stretches intended to awaken the body, mind, and spirit.

All level yoga flow – Yin style.  Less postures and more time in each gives every body a chance to “tune up” connective tissues,  joints and energies.  Great for athletes,  busy people,  the stressed,  the fidgety and the curious.  All levels welcome (many postures can be converted into a restorative version as needed).  Inspired in part by Sarah Powers Insight Yoga “interweaving the insights and practices of Yoga, Buddhism, Taoism, and Transpersonal Psychology into an integral practice.”

FRIDAY 

12pm SLOW VINYASA FLOW

6pm – 3rd Fridays –  PLANT BASED YOGA + Vegan Potluck (7pm) 

Compassionate beings unite (all are welcome – being vegan is NOT a requirement)!  In this class we will explore a lighthearted,  gentle flow + Yin practice to stretch out,  find balance and build community.  We will begin our practice with a common intention: to reduce suffering in all beings and increase compassion.  After our physical practice we will do a powerful, compassionate, heart-centered meditation technique to send healing and goodwill to ourselves,  our neighbors,  our world and possibly even to our enemies. After class we’ll share in plant-based refreshments (both provided by Imbue Yoga and potluck style if you want to bring something to share).   

Please bring plate, cup & utensils (Imbue will also provide some) and a dish to share if you’d like!  Come for just the yoga,  the potluck,  or both!

SATURDAY

10:30 am – SLOW VINYASA FLOW 

Mid morning slow flow to wake up the body & focus the mind.  Postures focusing on strengthening and stabilizing low back and core,  gentle sun salutations,  and bringing the spine in all directions with uplifting backbends,  expansive side body openers and grounding twists.  This class is always modified to the students present in the room and your requests!

1 pm – YOGA BASICS w/ rotating instructors 

New to yoga?  Been on and off to a few classes throughout your life and need a tune up?  Recovering from injury or want to support a friend who is new to yoga?  This class is for you!  Ever week we will cover basics:  foundation,  breathing,  alignment.  We will focus on breaking down certain postures,  learn some of the sanskrit names,  incorporate meditation and breath work from time to time.  Sometimes there will be guest teachers sharing their different yoga styles & philosophies so that you can experience something different every week and get more of a perspective on “what a yogi looks like.”  Dress in clothes you can breathe and move in!  This will be one of the most non-intimidating yoga classes you can find 🙂
