Also note, there will be no Viniyoga 5:30pm July 6th.

Stoked about this Friday’s Yoga Tone with Molly Maher – 10 am! She gave me a sneak peak into her sequence and playlist and it’s gonna be a HOOT! If you’re looking for a stronger workout, this is the ticket. Think “Madonna arms” and Michael Jackson. WOOT!

Also our Aerial Yoga workshop was full to the brim and we needed to add another – see below. SO glad you are enjoying the new offerings.

In my traditional training of Viniyoga (at Whole Life Yoga in Seattle), I have as mentioned before had some conflict in offering different styles and methods of movement … I question, “Is that really YOGA??” However, if you look at yoga at the meaning of the word, it means “to yoke” or to unite – uniting mind, body & breath, or our spirit with the greater cosmos. In bringing mindfulness to our breath and everything we do, we are practicing yoga. And if that means we are mindfully breathing while inverting upside down in an aerial silk, then that brings me joy that it’s bringing YOU joy in your body. We are on this planet in this embodied form — may we all find lightness, freedom and joy on this earthly plane. Much love and namaste! See you soon!

Warm regards,
Mary + Imbue Crew

Learn proper modifications and propping techniques to for your personal comfort and ability level. Elevate your yoga practice to a new level and experience it in a new way. This class is most accessible to those with a general understanding of basic yoga poses. Please no sharp jewelry, clothing with zippers, or anything that may snag and damage the aerial silks.

Helpful tip: Cotton (not synthetic/slippery) clothing is most comfortable and safe in the silks. I recommend wearing a tighter fitting tank top with a T-shirt over it for optimal modesty while inverted, and protection from friction of the fabric.

*If you have a spinal condition, injury, or medical issues that prevent you from inverting (glaucoma, heart condition, etc) or backbending, or are pregnant, please obtain your doctor’s permission.

Tuesdays 7:30pm Aerial Yoga (intro workshop or previous aerial practice required)

In this class we use an aerial hammock to practice Unnata® Aerial Yoga. Unnata® is sanskrit for ‘Elevated’, because we use the aerial hammock to access a deeper awareness of each posture, find support to strengthen our poses, and of course invert in the silks. The fabric hammock is a prop intended to assist with muscle and fascia release, strengthening, and body alignment. There is a natural playfulness to aerial yoga, and fun is encouraged.
Unless you have practiced Aerial Yoga elsewhere, you are required to attend a pre-requisite Introduction to Aerial Yoga Workshop before attending a drop-in class.

Wednesdays 7:30pm Recovery Yoga *new time*
This class creates a reflective, safe-space for those in recovery to restore a healthy connection to self. Loving and compassionate self-care is vital to any health recovery journey, and we will take time to explore positive intentions, affirmations and gratitude through a restorative yoga sequence. Recovery is defined as ‘a return to a normal state of health, mind or strength’. This class is inclusive, encompassing recovery from addictions, disordered eating, emotional or psychological distress, chronic illnesses, self-harm, and trauma of any sorts. Body positive & welcoming. Healing is our rooted intention!

Thursdays 12pm SLOW VINYASA FLOW
Luxurious, awakening mid-morning slow flow. This class is great for those new to yoga as well as anyone looking for a gently-paced Vinyasa flow. Come ready to enjoy meditation, breath work, and a series of sun-salutation, twists, and lengthening stretches intended to awaken the body, mind, and spirit.

Thursdays 5:30 pm – VINIYOGA (no class July 6th)

A low intensity flowing practice, linking breath to movement, with emphasis on stabilizing the low back & sacral area, working with breath to move into and out of postures. Great for beginners and adaptable for those with injury.

Viniyoga losely means “proper application and adaptation” in accordance with the individual. Each day we are different, every body in every yoga class is different. How can we work with our bodies and optimize our breaths to find the most effective form and function in every posture? In our drop in classes, this means the asana practice (postures/movement) will be a low intensity, flowing practice that builds stability in the low back/sacral area, links breath and movement, offers modifications with props and/or alignment to suit your body – not to try and fit your body into something that doesn’t work. This class is an opportunity to build strength gently, deepen awareness to the breath and start exactly where you are.

Fridays 10:00 am – Yoga Tone w/ Molly (corrected time!)
