Shyla A. Earl, M.A.
Introduced to herbalism as an adolescent, Shyla continues to nurture her relationship with plants by sharing her passion with students, educating clients, and connecting with herbal enthusiasts. Her history as a body modification artist, health care assistant, full-spectrum doula, academic, sustainable farmer and all around plant lover influence her unique knowledge of plants, humans, and health.
In 2010, Shyla returned to Minnesota and began a modest herbal practice which blossomed in 2014 after studying and apprenticing under Lise Wolff. Seeking avenues to further develop her herbal practice, Shyla obtained a Master’s degree in Holistic Health Studies (MAHS) from St. Catherine University in 2017. Her scholastic research explores the Human-Nature Relationship and how this relationship impacts our holistic health. Additionally, while in the MAHS program, Shyla co-created and taught the herbal course Plants, Culture, and Healing. She has also presented at the Minnesota Herbal Festival and will present at the Midwest Women’s Herbal Conference in 2018.
